WHY WE EXIST
The output is only part of the work.
A statistical table needs an explanation of how it was produced and what it supports. A workflow needs someone who can explain its rules, handle exceptions and maintain it after handover.
Current Digital exists to provide that depth alongside the practical work. Research and data analysis are our primary focus. Our systems practice applies the same attention to information, reasoning and responsibility to everyday operations.
The name reflects movement: information becoming evidence, then informing a decision. In a study, that movement follows the research question. In an organisation, it runs through records, processes and people.

What we expect of an analysis or a system.
Traceable
Important data transformations, analytical decisions and system rules should have a record.
Appropriate
The method or tool should fit the question, available information and consequences of error.
Maintainable
Files, scripts and systems should come with the instructions and ownership agreed for their continued use.
Responsible
Evidence and automation support decisions. They do not remove the need for human judgement or accountability.

Scope is a professional responsibility.
We assess requirements before accepting an engagement and identify methods or systems outside our expertise. We agree work we can explain, document and hand over responsibly.
For research, you remain the author. For systems, we agree who owns the process and who responds when something unexpected happens.
